What Pickle Desk does

Pickle Desk is an offline-first pickleball tournament operations app. It can create divisions and teams, build pools, schedule courts, record scores, calculate standings, create playoffs, import roster files, and export tournament backups and PDFs.

Information kept on your device

Tournament names, dates, venue text, divisions, team labels, schedules, scores, standings, and playoff information are normally kept on your device. Browser and installed Web app builds use browser storage under pickle-desk:tournaments. Desktop and native builds use the app's local SQLite database. Imported CSV, spreadsheet, PDF, image, and .tournament files are parsed locally; the app has no upload path for those files.

Exports are created only when you request them and are saved or downloaded through the location you choose. Local data remains until you delete it through the app, clear app/browser storage, uninstall the app, or remove an export yourself. Pickle Desk does not provide account-backed cloud backup or automatic cross-device synchronization.

Optional live sharing

When an organizer explicitly enables live sharing, Pickle Desk sends a limited, read-only tournament projection over HTTPS to its Cloudflare live-sharing service at https://pickledesk.app/api/live/. It can include the tournament title, date, venue text, division names, team display names, match schedule, courts, scores, standings, and playoff display data.

The projection does not include the local tournament envelope, organizer notes, imported source files, DUPR member-list fields, or the publisher capability. A random capability in the viewer link authorizes access. The service stores hashed capabilities, the current snapshot, and lifecycle state in a Cloudflare Durable Object. Viewers may receive updates over a WebSocket.

Shares are optional, anonymous, rate-limited, and expire according to the service lifecycle. Revoking a share stops authorized access. The current service marks revoked and expired shares inactive but retains the stored snapshot row; a future retention change will be documented here before it is relied on for store disclosures.

Information the current app does not intentionally collect

The current repository contains no account creation or login flow, analytics, advertising, tracking, payments, crash-reporting SDK, contacts access, camera, microphone, location, Bluetooth, or push-notification feature. Native builds request network access for optional live sharing and the file/SQLite permissions needed by the app shell. Cloudflare may process ordinary request and operational logs under its own service policies; Pickle Desk does not control those provider records.

Security and deletion

Live-sharing traffic uses HTTPS/WSS. Local browser storage and local SQLite are not represented as application-level encrypted storage by the current implementation. You control local deletion through the app and your device. For live shares, revocation and expiry prevent further authorized viewing; provider-side inactive-row retention is described above.
